Description: This course satisfies mandatory certification training requirements for Demil Operators, Demil Planners, Supervisors, and Inspectors, and Ammunition Surveillance Inspectors as prescribed by AMC-R 350-4 and CP-20 and CP-33 DA Interns as prescribed by AR 690-950. Re-certification requirements are determined by the local command. This course provides a comprehensive review of regulations governing the demilitarization of munitions, emerging technologies for resource recovery and recycling, and environmental requirements and decontamination methods (e.g. Military Munitions Rule – MMR), as well as technical training in the application of ammunition demilitarization methods, procedures, and techniques for open burning and open detonation operations. Students will receive hands-on training in conducting munitions disposal activities using both electric and nonelectric detonation methods during live explosives exercises on a demolition range. Training is provided IAW DoD 6055.09-M, DoDI 5160.68, AR 385-10, and DA PAM 385-64.

Audience: Personnel responsible for conducting munitions disposal (demilitarization) activities as prescribed by AMC-R 350-4 and DA Interns enrolled in Quality Assurance Specialist, Ammunition Surveillance (QASAS) Career Program (CP)-20 or Ammunition Management CP-33 as prescribed by AR 690-950.
Required Equipment: Students are required to bring safety shoes and clothing suitable for participating in field training exercises on a demolition training range.
Prerequisites: Completion of Course No. 9E-F67/920-F35, INTRODUCTION TO AMMUNITION (CERT), offered by the Defense Ammunition Center (DAC) via distance learning (DL) is highly recommended for personnel not enrolled in DA Intern Program CP-20 or CP-33.
Security Clearance: None required. NOTE: This course is rated FD3 and not available to International Military Students.

The IACET Standard: DAC has been approved by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) as an Authorized Provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs). In obtaining this accreditation, the Defense Ammunition Center has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standard which is recognized internationally as a standard of good practice. The DAC awards 9.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) on the course certificate for successful completion of this course.
